This was to manage the increasing product catalogue, evolving shipping requirements, and much more. To do this, the team required a modern database to set about building a microservices architecture. “At the same time, we wanted to launch a new product catalogue and a customized social newsfeed to bolster the community aspect and drive engagement.” “Our vision was to create a true tech fashion brand with a flexible tool that would improve the customer experience so they could navigate the site much quicker,” explained Sardorbek Pulatov, Head of Engineering, Vestiaire Collective.

Upgrades in the core technology infrastructure and new digital services were a clear route to improve customer experience. The team knew that with this increased activity, things had to evolve. The team was also having to deal with a far higher volume of purchases - admittedly a great problem to have - but that left buyers waiting weeks for their vintage products to arrive. Processes like authentication were becoming more complex and taking up considerable resources. From what had been a seamless customer experience, the increased activity began leading to delays and friction. As sales rose across the platform, challenges started to arise in the business. It was all data that the Vestiaire Collective’s engineering team had to store, manage, and analyse. More products, more authentications, more users, and more purchases. I think I will just keep using Ebay when I want to sell designer clothing. This impressive growth led to a huge increase in activity across the business. I am disappointed because it seemed like a good option. I was planning to try selling a few items on Vestiaire Collective but I will think twice about it. They just said "I will mention it to our team" and closed the chat. I got back to VC and demanded a compensation. I called Fedex again and that's when they told me the proforma was useless because the delay was due to the fact that Vestiaire Collective used their cheapest, slowest shipping service. It took a while but eventually they sent me a proforma invoice to give to Fedex in order to be able to receive my item. People at Fedex said the parcel was stuck at customs. in the USA since Aug 6th and it wasn't moving. I have been contacting them by chat since Monday because the parcel was stuck in Newark, N.J. As if that weren't enough, Vestiaire Collective's customer service has been terrible. I have been buying from several high-end internet clothing stores for years and it is the first time I get such slow shipping service. But I don't accept to get the worst shipping service available when I pay that much.

That's 61% of the price of the item! I know it's expensive to buy on Vestiaire Collective, and when the item is worth it, I accept that fact.
#VESTIAIRE COLLECTIVE VERIFICATION#
So in total I was charged $490.31 for a $304 item(that includes VC's $25 verification fee), so I ended up paying $186.31 extra. On top of that, they are making profit on taxes and duties because for a $304 item, it cost $69.80 in duties and $51.51 in taxes. It's too expensive for such low grade service.

They cannot give me a delivery date yet! I paid $40 for shipping a bikini (so it's a very small package). I called Fedex and they explained that Vestiaire Collective has chosen the cheapest, slowest shipping. Tracking indicated it was supposed to arrive on August 8th. The parcel left France for Canada on July 29th. Today is August 11th and the parcel has not arrived. Vestiaire Collective has the worst customer service. Very Disappointed by Vestiaire Collective Please be aware of this company because you are choosing for this company to authenticate an item for reassurance unfortunately you are still not guaranteed to receive an authentic item as these clearly sell fakes and support it. I emailed vestiaire collective with the images of all the faults and the poor quality of the shoes, they have email a returns label so these shoes can be checked again if they send these shoes back to myself I will be taking this company to court for selling defective, non authentic Gucci shoes. On receiving you could tell the shoes was not authentic I own a pair in a different colour which I bought direct from gucci but unfortunately the colour I ordered from this site Gucci no longer sell otherwise I would always purchase my stuff direct from them and the quality difference was massively noticeable with many faults. Stay away from this fraudster of a company! I purchased a pair of Gucci princetown paid for the authenticity check for reassurance which was either not carried out or they are authorising fake items.
